Senior Dental Care - Reduced costs for those 67+
From January 1, 2026, Sweden introduces a major dental reform: Senior Dental Care (Tiotandvård). If you are 67 or older, you pay only 10% of the reference price for many treatments. Swedish Dental Group in Stockholm is ready to welcome you.
The reform means you pay 10% of the reference price (or our lower price if applicable) for included treatments – the state covers the remaining 90%.
What is Senior Dental Care?
Senior Dental Care (also called Tiotandvård) is the new reform providing a strengthened high-cost protection for dental care to all Swedes aged 67 and older. You pay 10% of the reference price for treatments included.
The name 'Tiotandvård' refers to the patient paying ten percent of the reference price. The reform aims to improve oral health and quality of life for seniors, as good oral health is linked to overall health.

Who is entitled to Senior Dental Care?
To be entitled to Senior Dental Care, you must meet these requirements:
- You are 67 years or older (from the year you turn 67)
- You are registered in Sweden
- You are insured in Sweden according to the Social Insurance Code
You do not need to apply separately. When you book an appointment with us, we automatically verify your entitlement based on age and registration.
When does Senior Dental Care start?
Start date: January 1, 2026
The reform took effect on January 1, 2026. If you are already 67 or older, you can book an appointment with us directly and benefit from the reduced costs.
If you turn 67 during 2026, you are entitled from the beginning of the year you turn 67 – no need to wait for your birthday.
