How does dental support work?
We are connected to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency and the county council. The state dental support consists of the general dental allowance, special dental allowance, and high-cost protection. Dental support can reduce your dental care costs. Below you will find information about each type of support.
State dental support
For those not registered with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency
To benefit from high-cost protection and the annual dental allowance, you need to be socially insured in Sweden.
Submit an application (form 5456) to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. Below is the link.
You can also apply for the insurance via the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's e-service using e-identification. Below is the link
County council dental support
If you have certain illnesses, disabilities, or a great need for care and support, you can receive dental support from the county council. For example, you can receive it if you have a great need for nursing care, need dental care as part of your medical treatment, or if you are extremely afraid of dental care.
